Professional Experience

Growing up as a child my father took my brother and me on countless fishing trips. It was during these trips that I developed a strong connection to the outdoors and more importantly – water. I study water quality to better understand the health of our planet’s water systems. My professional experience has taken me all over North America, studying water bodies; from the western slope of Glacier National Park, to Columbia River headwaters, to tropical stream environments in Puerto Rico, to my current position in Fayetteville, West Virginia where I study the Lower New River. Over the last ten years, I have developed a strong understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and realize the importance of GIS to analyze and model our natural environment. I’ve used GIS to improve how data is analyzed, visualized, and conveyed to individuals who are making important and difficult decisions about our future. To learn more about the projects I have managed, scroll the project menu tab at the top of the page or click the restoration projects link.
