Advocates For Healthy Watersheds
In 1997, a group of concerned citizens held a meeting to address the effects of proposed power lines, which would have impacted an undeveloped portion of the Meadow River.
One hundred people came to this meeting and founded the movement to keep the “Meadow River…. Like it is!”. The project was a success, the Meadow River remains undeveloped today and the Plateau Action Network (PAN) was born. In 1998, with the help of citizen donations and the WV Rivers Coalition, an all volunteer watershed group, the Plateau Action Network, was incorporated and obtained nonprofit status.
Today the Plateau Action Network continues in the spirit of that first meeting back in 1997. We are supported by the hard work of volunteers, our staff and the generous support of private donations and grants. You can visit our restoration projects page to find out what we’re working on.
